Easy Appetizer in Advance

One of the things we love about making sliced wraps for an appetizer is that most of it can be prepared in advance. We prepare the rolls and refrigerate them, and then we simply slice them and arrange them just before serving.

It doesn’t get much easier than that.

These salmon wraps with cottage cheese are both delicious and probably a healthy appetizer, as there are plenty of good ingredients in them.

If you’re a bit hesitant about cottage cheese and don’t want to serve it to your family, cream cheese can also be a fine alternative. But we quite like cottage cheese at our house.

Ingredient notes

Tortilla wraps – You can certainly try making them from scratch, but store-bought ones from the supermarket work really well too.

Cottage cheese – Cottage cheese tastes good and is healthy. You can find it along with other cheeses in most supermarkets. Alternatively, you can use cream cheese to spread on the wraps.

Cold Smoked salmon – You can buy this at the supermarket. You can also use smoked trout. Se our recipe for cold smoked salmon here.

Avocado – Avocado pairs well with the salmon and the low-fat cottage cheese. It adds both flavor and texture to the roll. If you don’t want to use avocado, you can choose another vegetable, such as cucumber.
